Our nation's children are at risk. Our youth are becoming victims of bullying, date rape, drug use, alcohol abuse, victimisation, intimidation - haeneous misconducts, that CAN be prevented and curbed through positive actions from businesses throughout South Africa. We have the opportunity to make a difference. Medical Corporate Services cc has developed a package through extensive research as a private initiative to empower our youth with knowledge to keep them safe and aware. My Safety First Project provides tools to deal with being Teenager in the South African environment. We need to involve each learner on an individual level to enhance their coping mechanisms and support systems. Educators are under a lot of pressure to accomplish their primary goal, in the midst of social breakdown re: drugs, crime, victimization etc. Due to time limitations to mention but one hindering factor, social issues can not be addressed. Therefore private initiatives need to adapt to the ever changing environment of the youth, to ensure their holistic wellbeing – which are being neglected, to our nations detriment.
